Bullets are a type of projectile, usually fired from pistols and rifles. In modern firearms, it is usually held in place by the shell casing, which also holds the propellant. The bullet may or may not have a cannelure; a cannelure prevents bullet setback.
Bullet Types
Modern bullets come in several designs; the most common by far is the full metal jacket bullet.
Ball
Tracer
Contains a substance that ignites when fired giving it a glow. Used for aiming the weapon (in particular at night).
Expanding
A bullet that expands open on impact.
Hollowpoint
An expanding bullet that opens on impact.
High Explosive
A bullet that explodes on impact.
Incendiary
A bullet that burns when fired/on impact through the target.
Flechette
Depleted Uranium
Used for armor piercing.
To anyone reading this, do not try and tamper/section any DU round. The dust that will be produced is in small enough particles to be inhaled, which is very dangerous. It could also lead to the workshop (or armory) that the individual do it in being sealed off as a radiation contaminated site.
Blank
Not a bullet as such but used to simulate on in training exercises.
Drill/Inert
An inert round for practicing firearms handling.
